Dr. Sara Weigel
CHIROPRACTIC LITERALLY CHANGED My Mom's LIFE.
My first experience with chiropractic was with my mom. My mom experienced severe migraine headaches for many years as I was growing up. She tried many treatments with little results until she went to a chiropractor.
She was able to get the headaches under control, and was able to live the life she wanted without having to worry about headaches. After seeing what an effect chiropractic had on my mom, I decided that I would love to be a part of a profession that could have that kind of positive effect on someone without drugs or surgery.
I am privileged to be a chiropractor. Everyday in our chiropractic care center, I see miracles as people with both short and long term health complaints get better and without taking drugs or the risk of surgery.
What made the body heals the body, and we are so lucky to witness this everyday!
Dr. Weigel is from Fargo, ND where she graduated in 1996 from Fargo South High School with honors. While at Fargo South, she was very active in extracurricular activities including basketball, volleyball, fast-pitch softball, and student council.
After high school she attended Concordia College in Moorhead, MN and graduated in 2000 Magna Cum Laude with major in biology and minor in chemistry. While at Concordia she also played two years of college basketball. Following graduation from Concordia, she attended Northwestern Health Sciences University in Bloomington, MN where she attained her Doctorate of Chiropractic degree in 2004.

I am forever grateful for being a chiropractor. Every day I have the privilege of seeing and hearing the amazing impact chiropractic care has had on people, how it has changed their lives along with everyone around them! Everyday the results we get at Active Life Chiropractic amaze me. I make it my personal vendetta to give my patients the best care possible so families can have the opportunity to live the same life as we do!
Chiropractic found me
There is a saying in the chiropractic profession, “You do not choose chiropractic, chiropractic chooses you!” I had been to chiropractors as a kid for various sports related problems. From the visits I had, it was my belief that chiropractic was for treating pain. It wasn’t until I was a young chiropractic student sitting in a chiropractic seminar where I finally “heard” of what chiropractic can do! Since this epiphany, every day I see first hand how chiropractic has and continues to transform lives! Every day my passion becomes stronger and my purpose becomes greater to serve the people of the Bismarck-Mandan area and the teach them about health, wellness and chiropractic!
The Active Life Team
Jessie, Chiropractic Assistant
Hello there! My name is Jessie. I was born and raised right here in Bismarck. Like most North Dakotans, I love all things outdoors: hiking, spending time on the lakes, exploring back country roads and gardening. I am a proud Dog Mom to a very lovable rescue dog. I enjoy doing arts and crafts, searching for unique treasures at rummage sales and coaching a local dance team.
I have had a wide variety of jobs over the years but now that chiropractic has found me, I no longer have a job; I have a new way of life and an incredible opportunity. I see miracles everyday at Active Life and I have the opportunity to be apart of them. I have the opportunity to help people not only get relief from pain but live their lives to the fullest!
Beth, Chiropractic Assistant
Hi! I’m Beth! I was raised right here in good ole Bismarck. My husband Ryan and I have 3 children Sydney, Luke, and Max. We also have a German shorthair named Ike. I enjoy spending time with my family and friends and especially my granddaughter, Ruby. We love spending our summer days on the Missouri River on our pontoon. Reading and going to concerts are a couple of my favorite things to do!
I am so glad to be a part of the team here at Active Life Chiropractic and look forward to helping many people on their path to wellness. Every day I am amazed by how chiropractic care helps others in so many different aspects of life!
Hannah, Chiropractic Assistant
Hey friends and soon-to-be friends! I was born and raised in this beautiful state and am very proud to be a NoDak. I love pretty much everything about North Dakota, especially Bismarck. Who can complain when the season is always changing! I actually enjoy working out, from running to yoga. Tabata is my new rage. I get equally excited about tacos and ciders.
I went to the University of North Dakota –yes, it’s a darn tundra there- where I majored in Marketing. I love ideas and creating things. After a series of life events, I felt called to healthcare (and I mean REALLY called.) I began searching for something in the healthcare field when I started at Active Life. That really flipped the table for me! I came to realize how chiropractic care is the best healthcare! My favorite part about my job is watching testimonials from start to finish, from babies to athletes to our 90+ club. Real people with real symptoms finding relief and good health.
Kayla, Trainer and 8 Weeks to Wellness Coordinator
Hey, I'm Kayla Thomas! As of April 2018, I will have graduated from the University of Mary with a Master's in Clinical Exercise Physiology. I am passionate about implementing exercise programs to help people be their best self!
I grew up in Helena, MT and have been living in Bismarck since 2012 while attending college at the University of Mary. My husband and I spend most of our time involved in athletics in some way. We both coach on and off throughout the year, and compete in recreational volleyball and walleyball year-round! If we are not coaching or competing, we are probably in the stands as spectators. Other hobbies of mine include spending time with friends and family as well as gardening and enjoying the warm weather during the summer months.
I am very excited to be a part of the Active Life Chiropractic team!
Shawna, Licensed Massage Therapist
Hello, my name is Shawna Larocque. My husband Kolt and I have 2 daughters, Lilli and Iris. We have a rescue dog named Dolly. We are from the small town of Belcourt, ND. We live by our Native tradition, sharing the idea that we must always look out for one another's well-being which is what led me to Massage Therapy. I realized the positive effects it could have when someone dear to me fell ill. I had the opportunity to help them in their time of need through massage. After that experience, I set a goal to use massage therapy for the benefit of others.
I have many hobbies including: painting, quilting, jingle dress dancing, camping, fishing, and traveling with my family. I am very thankful to have came across Dr. Doug and Dr. Sara, providing a warm and welcoming environment to help others through massage.
